Do you think the actual game is like how Mythic advertised it to be?
Yes 55% [ 20 ]
No 44% [ 16 ]
Simple question. Yes or no?
Everything in the game is how I expected it to be so I'm pleased, the population on my server is a bit low at times, but apart from that, I think the game is how Mythic said it'd be.
The game is better than I thought it would be, ( coming from AOC launch I had low expectations!) but it impressed me in many ways. The PQ's were great, right from the start, no LFG, log on and be in the fight in minutes.
The quests are diverse and fun, and rewards are fair for the effort.
Job mechanics are great, you have to learn to be good- I like that. I thought I would be a engineer ( I'm one in RL) but I tried BO and can't stop being mean and green !
I think the main surprise was the player base. I've joined groups in PQ's, from beginning to end stage of PQ without a single word from a "leader".
The tanks-tanked, healers healed, etc like a guild group that have been together for a while. That was really refreshing. I could also be a B&S tank or swing a great weapon and DPS and no one commented on play style.
I think the crafting is poor and I would like more than one gathering skill, but it's a minor issue because you really don't need to make money to get around. Same with having the only auction in capital city, you don't really need to focus on the economy side, just kill and maim to heart's content.
I have no complaints- much better than expected.
love the game only problem i have found since hitting tier 4 is the lack off ppl about
yes the senarios pop or rather serpants path does , but open rvr not seen any
yes i have been and taken keeps and other objectives but there was not one person form desto to fight us
just seems to me that the top lvl is a bit sparce for now with look ppl will lvl and the areas will get a bit more activity soon
can't answer this really.
For what they said would be the game a month ago.
Yes they delivered.
For what they were hoping to make over a year ago, no they fell short.
But it's an incredible game and I love it.
the only things i would put into this game is a bit more PvE content, Dungeons like (i know your going to shout at me) Warcrack, but thats what made that game for me, i love the pvp here, the open groups, the whole way the classes work, and mythic have done a fantastic job making the whole thing feel like warhammer.
I agree here, having the flight masters only in the rvr camps is a bit of a pain as they are usually the most out of the way of the camps in a zone.
As for everything else I'm pretty happy with it, the game could use a few better tool tips and explainations here and there especially on the tradeskills but this is a minor gripe and nothing even close to hurting the game.
If you've been following their prelaunch they've been pretty upfront about very cut detail. What wasn't cut was in. I really find the crafting revolutionary, because its not a massive anything sink (at-least apothecary).
Its not up to either my or Mythic's original vision, but it is a functional nice MMO, and I don't feel tricked in the least.
Agreed 100%
I feel disappointed about the losses. And I'm wary about the real reasons for them, but they didn't lie about what the final package would be once you logged in.
Wrong. Mythic made their mistakes themselves. EA had nothing to do with it other than giving them enough time and money. Mythic chose to use that to MAKE those mistakes instead of making it better. That's what happens when you listen to the wrong bunch of forum whiners and ignore your real playerbase just to try and win over a bunch of MMO-Hopping idiots. Put blame where it belongs. With Mythic. Not EA.
If you're just going to troll, you're going to end up banned. Really banned. And if you don't care, then why are you bothering in the first place?
I'd have to vote no. When i first started following W.A.R's developement WAAAY back, before any zones, city's or classes had even been confirmed, i had a hype for the game, a really big one. Being a general fan of Warhammer i naturaly showed interest about the prospect of seing the lovely tabletop game action come to life.Followed the developement for a well over a year on these boards until i sorta burned out on the whole thing...
When WAR was released i had a "so-so" mentality for it after beta driving it for acouple of weeks. RvR and PvP was immensly fun, when there was any to be had. PvE was alright, it was a necessary evil from my point of view, PQ is a nice fresh breath to the PvE scene, but i was mostly frustrated by always healing my rear end off and actualy breaking swet from completing some of the tougher PQ's with guildies only to find that the lowly Bright Wizard who had just stood there and blasted away was always first and i was last. Not exactly what i had in mind for PQ's. Generally i think Mythic poured to much lore into the game and sorta skipped corners in other departments. I love the Tome of Knowledge and its a cool tool to have, but i've yet to read a single short passage story about any of the things in there.
Trophy's are probably my biggest grief. Had hoped for some spectaculer trophy's after exorting to higher feats of combat but that wasn't the case sadly. Most trophy's i unlocked was from killing 1,000 of a certain mob, not from contributing to the killing some 4,000 enemy players. I can honestly say i felt cheated in that department.I've just cancelled my account and hope to return in january, time is a issue right now and i don't feel like setting what spare time i have to push this game anyfurther at the moment, i am however sincerly hoping the game will get wind its sails after christmas and that the new "heavy metal" classes will bring some cool tools to the battlefield.
To end it, i'll have to quote my guild master who put it roughly. Tho i don't agree with the wording and its harsher verbal stance, i do agree with whats general said in it.
I vote yes.
There are problems, but if you look at the mechanics of the game, it is what they said it was going to be.
So which is it? Take the easy way out or not? Or is it simply, take YOUR easy way out, make the game how YOU want and then it's fine?
This kind of poor attitude and poorly written "I'm taking my toys and going home because you didn't listen TO ME" is why threads like these get locked around here.
While I agree with alot of things alot of people said, posting that kind of baseless garbage that simply is a TLDR version of "you didn't change the game to make it what I wanted regardless of what you said for 3 years, I'm leaving" and that is NOT how you go about letting Mythic know the problem.
I apologize to everyone else that had the intelligence, forethought and maturity to post their thoughts in a realistic, constructive and adult manner, but this thread is also going down a path we simply don't want nor have the time for here.
